School District
No. 51 Boundary welcomes families and students to our School
District. We accept applications from residents in Christina
Lake, Grand Forks, Greenwood, Midway, Rock Creek, Beaverdell,
Westbridge, and Big White. School District 51 has 8 elementary,
2 secondary schools, a K-12 school and 3 alternate education
facilities.
How
to Register
Children
may begin Kindergarten in September of the calendar year in
which they turn five years old. Please drop by your neighborhood
school during school hours to register. Please bring your child’s
birth certificate and proof of residency.
Where
to Register
The Board
of School Trustees believes that it is desirable, whenever practicable,
for students to attend their neighbourhood schools. Eligibility
for student registration, enrolment and placement is subject
to the terms set out in the School Act, School District Policy,
and Regulations. The Board encourages students to attend their
local Catchment Area schools while also recognizing the desirability
of students and parents choosing the school and educational
programs which best meet the students’ educational needs.
The placement of a student in a school will be dependent upon
the availability of space, programs and resources.
